There are several basic rules of etiquette that should be followed at all times.

Care of the golf course
Replace divots
Repair pitch marks
Rake sand bunkers
Do not put trollies or bags on the green
Lay flag down gently on the greens
Follow paths

Keeping pace
Let others player play through if you fall behind
Let other players play through if they are obviously faster.
Be ready to play as soon as it is your turn
When on a green leave your equipment on the way to the next tee
Do not linger on the green when finished
Mark your scorecard when you have left the green

Consideration for other golfers
Do not tee off until the group ahead are out of range
Be still and quiet around players taking their shot
Do not stand on another players line (or their line extending past the hole)
Do not obstruct other players
Attend flag for partner if requested
Mark your score card when you have left the green
Do not cast a shadow that will affect another player
