Fitness

I have spent some time looking at the process that I need to adopt in order to get fit to meet my golf project objectives. I have found a book "Complete Conditioning for Golf" which I will draw on for inspiration.
Fitness

After my first day I quickly realised that I needed to improve my core body strength. However on reading about this subject it was clear that I had to make sure that I did not strengthen one muscle group without a correct balance with all muscle groups.
A fitness program should cover both endurance and strength/power. I have used a book "Complete Conditioning for Golf " by Pete Draovitch and Wayne Westcott to give me a guidance
Each set of exercises should consist of
Warm up
Flexibility stretches
Strength or endurance exercises
Cool down and stretches

In addition to exercises, balance is important - As I get older there is a need to work on balance and I will be researching this.

Also included in fitness is nutrition. What has food got to do with golf I ask. Well, to increase and maintain fitness I will have to eat a balanced diet. Golf is after all a physical game. Walking 3 to 4 miles lugging a set of clubs and equipment , having to swing hard at a golf ball then, on the green, calm down to putt.

This is going to be a long year!
